Catch Up Post 5: Randomness

Here's a few random pictures from about 2 weeks ago. We were just having fun at home...

Aahhh, Parker's normal "surprise" look

An even better one

Can I say double chin?

Big yawn...being cute is hard work

OMG, look at the rolls on that arm!

Maybe because he's always eating something
The hat's a little big
Works better backwards
Perfect

No more pictures please

Catch Up Post 4: Checkups

On the 12th Victor and I took the kids in for their 6 month and 2 year checkups (I think you can figure out whose was whose!). They both had to get shots, or at least I think Tristan got one shot...it seriously has been so long I can't remember. But I do know poor Parker had 4 plus an oral vaccine, but he took those needle pricks like a champ.

Both are on track developmentally and physically, just extremely active...just crazy little boys! Anyways, here's the official stats:

Parker
Weight: 18 pounds (50th percentile)
Height: 27 3/4 inches (80th percentile)
Head: 17 1/4 (?? percentile)

Tristan
Weight: 32.6 pounds (90th percentile)
Height: 35 1/4 inches (75th percentile, but should probably be 90th since they had to measure him standing up...the doctor said they always measure shorter when standing versus laying down, which he refused to do)
Head: 19 1/2 (?? percentile)

Catch Up Post 3: New Toys Are So Much Fun!

Over the past few weeks Tristan has kept himself pretty entertained with all his great new toys he got for his birthday. He got so much new, and big, stuff we are having trouble finding places to put it all but I guess it really doesn't matter because he just takes everything back out anyways! He loves all his new stuff but I must admit I am a little worried about Christmas...we are already busting at the seams!

And by the way, for those of you thinking it is me buying all these toys, think again...Tristan is just spoiled by our whole family!!! Oh well, at least he's having fun!

Catch Up Post 2: Wurstfest

The Wednesday after Tristan's birthday we took the kids to Wurstfest to enjoy a little New Braunfels tradition. Since I grew up here one thing I remember doing every year as a kid was going to Wurstfest to ride rides, eat sausage and listen to crazy polka music. Now as I got older my interest in the rides, music and sausage seemed to wane and the tons of beer on tap grew far more interesting (especially on college night), but that's a whole another story! On a side note, for those of you unfamiliar with Wurstfest, it is a 10 day long festival/salute to sausage (wurst means sausage in German) that also involves quite a bit of drinking for adults.

So anyways, we went (not on college night) but only ended up staying about an hour or so. We walked the whole grounds, listened to a little bit of music, ate a sausage on a stick (my favorite) and rode the carousel. For some reason Tristan wasn't too into the music (very surprising to us) and didn't want to eat any of the food there (not surprising...picky eater).

The one thing that truly caught his interest had absolutely nothing to do with Wurstfest itself. When you walk through the entrance you go over a small bridge where the river runs below and a small damn has been built. This was the highlight of the night for him...if it has to do with water, he can't get enough of it! Parker on the hand was pretty captivated with all the people, lights and music.

So, our experience wasn't quite all the fun I remember Wurstfest being, but I am sure it will get better as the years go on, and maybe when I can a have a beer or two (still nursing so no drinking for me).

Victor and Tristan on the carousel
Weeee, this carousel actually went pretty fast!
Aawww, it looks like Tristan is giving Daddy a kiss
Mommy took pictures of Parker while they rode rides
Mommy and her two boys (on the bridge looking at the water)
Daddy's turn

Parker with some of the Opa's

Since Tristan wouldn't eat anything at Wurstfest we took him to eat Olive Garden afterwards so he could stuff his face with spaghetti!

Catch Up Post 1: Baby Laughs

This video is over a month old but what can I say, I really need to get things caught up on here and I might as well do it right by starting from where I left off!!!! Besides, Parker's laugh is just too cute not to post on here!

We were at my Mom and Dad's house and Tristan got Parker really giggling so I grabbed my little camera/camcorder and caught his precious laugh on video. There's nothing better than a baby's laugh...it's just contagious and can bring a smile to anyones face.

More Birthday Fun

This is first of a series of "catch-up" posts, so get ready!

On Tristan's actual birthday we took him to his favorite restaurant, Red Lobster, which also happens to be a favorite of Victor's....hmmmnnnn. All kidding aside, Tristan really does like it there, it is one of the few places we can take him and be about 95% sure that he will eat. He LOVES the popcorn shrimp and usually clears his whole plate...hey, I didn't say it was the healthiest place to eat, just that he eats there!

The waiters sang him happy birthday which he just ate up...loves being the center of attention! Here's a few pics from dinner.

The day after his birthday, the festivities continued since Victor was still off from work. Mildred (Victor's mom) came over that evening to watch Parker so we could take Tristan to the Spurs game. This was a definite hit. Victor got tickets from the San Antonio Express News in their suite. This is really the only way to go to a game...you not only have a suite with food and TV's but also have great seats (Eva Longoria usually sits about 3 rows down!) in a separate section with lots of leg room.

Tristan loved the game and was quite upset when half-time came around. We went back into the suite and he kept saying "b-ball". We reassured him there was a whole another half but he wasn't truly happy until we went back out to our seats and the game got started again! The other thing he seemed to be quite fond of was the Silver Star dancers. Every time they came out he was completely focused on them...typical boy!!! Enjoy the pics form the game.
