It seems that I keep falling more and more behind in posting the gazillion pictures I take, so I promise I am going to get all caught up this week and stay on top of things. Here's a few pictures to keep you guys going until then...

Long and lean at 4 months

Parker went to his 4 month checkup this morning and got an A+, for the most part. He is on track, plus some, developmentally since he is already rolling over both ways, has found his feet and hands and has begun teething (I think...he has been drooling for at least 2 months and is now biting everything!). The doctor and the nurses all mentioned how strong he is...the nurse giving him his shots even had to bring in an additional nurse to hold him down since he kept wiggling around and rolling over. The other nurse even made the comment that he was the strongest 4 month old she has ever seen! He is going to be sitting up and crawling in no time.

He weighed in at 13 pounds and 13 ounces, down to the 30th percentile from the 50th at 2 months and measured 26 inches long, in the 80th percentile. My baby is definitely long and lean, and ready to eat some foods. The pediatrician said she would like to see him go back up to the 50th percentile for weight and he probably went down due to his non-stop activity. He is so active all the time that he burns up a lot of calories, so we are starting cereal tonight and veggies next week. Yum, yum!

My Interpretation

Since neither of my two boys are old enough to hold a conversation I have to interpret their every whine, cry, gesture and mumbled word or sound...here's what I think they might have been saying/thinking the other morning.

Parker: Do dee do, sitting here minding my own business

Parker: And here comes that annoying kid again, why doesn't he ever leave me alone?

Parker: Mom, he's touching me!!!!

Tristan: I didn't do anything, I'm just sitting here

Tristan: See Mom, my hands were right here the whole time

Parker: No they weren't, I can still see on my arm where you touched me

Tristan: Nope, couldn't been me, I was just here practicing my smile

Parker: Get near me again and you won't be smiling!

Tristan: Mom, Parker is being mean!!!

Another milestone for Parker

Can you believe Parker is already doing this?

That's right, he's on a roll!

Last Tuesday I laid Parker down in his play gym for some fun with his hanging toys and noticed he was really making an effort to roll over from his back. Now, I had been awaiting this moment since he rolled over so early from his stomach and he's freakishly strong already, but I never thought he would try for a few minutes and then viola, he'd get it down pat. I am telling you this kid is amazing!

I grabbed my little camera that also takes short video and started to record him thinking I'd get some cute video of him trying to roll over and getting stuck, which I did, but I also ended up capturing his actual first roll from his back on video too!

Here's the video of him trying to roll over and getting stuck on his side...way cute!

After a few minutes I thought to myself that maybe all the hanging toys were getting in his way so I moved him onto a blanket out of the play gym and that is when I caught his first roll!

Now I can't lay him down on his back without him flipping over within two seconds, he even does it when I'm trying to change his diaper...and I thought I was supposed to have a few more months before diaper changes started getting difficult! I guess the second child really does do things a lot faster!

Pudding Playdate

Last week we went over to my friend Melissa's house for a playdate with her daughter Kinsley and another friend, Josie, and her two boys, Max and Eli. Melissa had watched Jon and Kate plus 8 previous to our playdate and stole a really fun idea from them...painting with chocolate pudding!!!!

Let me tell you, I was a tad bit skeptical about how 4 toddlers were going to do but they had a blast. We stripped them down to diapers and set up the table outside (of course, we're not that stupid to do it inside!), put some pudding on paper and gave them some brushes. They all pretty much went to town, especially Tristan...he had pudding all over him (in his hair, ear and who knows where else). I was really surprised he got so messy because usually he doesn't like stuff all over him, maybe he didn't care becaus eh figured he could always wipe it off and eat it, who knows.

I'm not sure which one of them decided to taste the pudding first but they all caught on pretty quick that this "paint" tasted pretty darn good. They all tried out the pudding, Tristan tested it out multiple times and it wonderfult hat we didn't have to worry about them sticking the brushes in their mouth...A+ idea!

Kinsley took the car out for a quick spin before getting to the pudding

The boys discussing their plan of attack for the pudding

I think Tristan was thinking about pulling off his diaper and showing everyone his bum!!

What is going on here???

Ready to get started

Those conniving boys are at it again

The fun is about the begin
Kinsley let the boys to dive in first
Eli took to it right away
Tristan went straight for the full hand print in pudding
Going to town

Group shot
Eli deciding whether he should take a little taste
The tasting begins
Max painting a gorgeous picture
Kinsley contemplating whether she should paint or eat

Eli decided to run off with his masterpiece
There's my messy baby!
Where'd Eli's paper go?
Tristan taking a short break to play in the water
Max stayed committed to painting

Tristan rejoined Max for a few more taste tests
Finger-licking good!
The pudding was worth two fingers
Sure, that paint brush kind of looks like a spoon
Yep, works just like a spoon

Kinsley thought it worked like a spoon too!

More handprints by Max
Tristan was really enjoying that pudding
Everyone was getting the hang of the handprints

Just the boys
Kinsley had too much testosterone, she needed a break from them crazy boys
The final result...what masterpieces!
Tristan had pudding all over himself
Clean up time

Eli snuck back for one (or two) more bites
Tristan wondering why the water wasn't coming out yet
Spraying them down!
