Yeah, a new post!

Finally, a new post! I have received many comments, mostly from Victor, that they are tired of looking at the giant Easter Bunny pic, so I decided I better "hop" on it (a little Easter humor) with a new post. We have been very busy over the last week and a half.

Last week we mostly ran errands and spent a lot of time picking out new frames for all of Tristan's recent pictures. As you know by now, I am a definite picture taker and we had so many new pictures to put up around the house, I ran out of frames! We also tried to re-take some pictures in the bluebonnets, but Tristan was not very cooperative! He did okay at first but he was more interested in chewing on the blanket than looking at the camera, so I picked him up and we took pictures of the other kids (Melissa's son, Kaeson, and Melanie's daughter, Ashley), then by the time it was Tristan's turn again he didn't want to sit alone, so I had to hold him. I guess I will just have to settle for the pictures I already got in the bluebonnets, since the weeds are starting to take over now.

Last weekend we went to Fredericksburg for a little shopping and picked up a gift for Grandma Mildred's birthday (on April Fool's Day). Tristan gave her the necklaces and bracelet he picked out at lunch last Sunday and also gave her lots of BIG, WET, SLOPPY kisses (check out the pic below).

The last couple of days we were preparing for Easter. We got baskets, eggs, egg dye, confetti, and the other stuff you need to have a fun easter. On Saturday, my Mom (Linda) and Victor's Mom (Mildred) and my friend Melissa and her son, Kaeson, came over to dye Easter eggs. It was super-messy, but we ended up with some really cool eggs. We had tye-dye, marbleized, confetti, and my favorite, "dripped-on" (from Martha Stewart) eggs. Tristan even received a few early Easter gifts, a Dr. Seuss book and card from Aunt Bernice and Uncle Donny and a blue bunny from Grandpa and Grandma Linda.

Tristan also had to pick out a birthday gift for Masyn, who turned 1 this week. He went to her party on Saturday and he had such a blast that he would not take a nap all day and didn't want to go to bed at night even though he was dog tired. Needless to say, Saturday night was a long night!

Amongst all this excitement and happenings, we were still able to spend lots of time playing with toys and rolling over. Tristan is now getting to the age where toys are very interesting to him. Anything he can get a hold of gets picked up and goes straight to the mouth. He loves toys that have the crinkle sound (like ears of stuffed animals and such), toys with lights and sound and pretty much anything he can grip in his hand easily. He is even starting to get angry if he wants a toy and can't get it...he has developed this habit of throwing toys on the ground from his Exersaucer and expecting us to pick them up! If you don't pick the toy up he starts to cry, but then he will just throw it back on the ground--boy, does he have us trained, or what? His personality is beginning to show more and more each day. He giggles and laughs all day at silly faces and sounds and gets extremely cranky when he is tired. His mood can change at the drop of a hat, but no matter what kind of mood he is in, he always starts laughing when he sees Victor! Every night when Victor gets home and Tristan spots him come through the door, he starts smiling and laughing, and Victor isn't even doing anything! No faces, sounds, nothing! I have even had a hard time feeding Tristan when Victor is in the room because he gets so distracted and wants to play with Daddy...he just loves his Daddy!

Speaking of food, Tristan has been enjoying quite a few new foods recently too. He has eaten squash, sweet potatoes, carrots, green beans and oatmeal cereal. He ate the squash, but it wasn't his favorite, loved the sweet potatoes and carrots and is still deciding about the green beans...I don't think they are going to be on his list of favorite foods any time soon! This week he is going to start peas, then he will move on to apple sauce, peaches and pears. Yummy, yummy, yummy! He also started to get formula on a more regular basis the last couple of days. Up until now, he was breastfed, but I am starting to wean him off to formula. So far, the formula has been pretty gentle on his stomach and his reflux has actually been a little better.

I posted some pics below of what's been going on lately...
