On Thursday we had a small get together with my parents and Victor's mom and aunt to celebrate Parker's 1st birthday. Since his "big" birthday party is still two weeks away I wanted to make sure we did something near his birthday and since Victor had to work all day on his actual birthday we celebrated the night before the actual big day.
I, of course, had to stay with my jungle theme, so the lady who made his picture birthday smash cake and who is making the cake for the party whipped me up a little cake for that night, and I must say, it was super-duper cute!!! We all ate a yummy dinner of lasagna, bread and salad courtesy of Mildred and my mom, then sang happy birthday, cut into the cake and finally got to the good part...presents!!!!
The kids were either completely exhausted and ready to go to sleep or totally wound up the whole night. We went to Sea World during the day (there will be an upcoming post about that) so I think they were just completely running on pure adrenalin and went through periods of ups and downs in energy levels! Tristan kept blowing out Parker's birthday candle so we had to re-light it and sing like three different times, and each time I really think Parker cared less and less! Tristan didn't mind though, he loves singing the happy birthday song and definitely loves blowing out candles. Then Tristan wanted to open all of Parker's presents and play with all his toys. Luckily, Parker got to open a few gifts on his own while Tristan was occupied with a previously opened toy. I guess that just comes with having an older sibling!!!
Parker got some really cute pajamas, a few sets of clothes and some great new toys. And, he got his very own chair, which I think just might be the subject of some controversy for the next few months!! Check out the video and pictures below.

Yeah...a birthday party. Glad to hear that you rescheduled the party so that you still have 1st birthday party memories:)
