Last Friday the Comal County Fair was in town and so was the annual parade. Each year, the Friday of the 5 day fair is a local holiday and all the schools and a lot of local businesses and organizations particiapte in the parade that goes through downtown New Braunfels.
Our friends Melissa and her daughter Kinsley invited us, along with some other friends, to join them to watch the parade. Now, the parade doesn't actually start until 10a.m. and the pet parade precedes it at 9:30, so we decided it would be a good idea to get there about 9 in order to get seats on the shady side of the street. Well, we arrived at 9 and found that we were definitely NOT early and ended up sitting on the sunny side of the street with the sun glaring down on us for what felt like ever!
The kids did really well all in all. They were a little restless at first since they had to wait for things to get started, so we let them play near the old train station in town, which was right by our seats. This seemed to help pass the time until the paraded started. Once the show got on the road, they were much easier to keep entertained...obvioulsy, the music of the bands was all Tristan needed, but the bright colored floats, crazy costumes, animals and loud motorcycles helped too!
I took a lot of pictures, so enjoy!
How Parker started the parade, awake but not so interested
Our friends, Melissa and her daughter Kinsley
Kinsley posing in her shades
Tristan watching the little pet parade before the floats get started
Playing with the door at the train station
Posing with his paper fan
Tristan and Eli
Look at that face
Tristan, Eli, Max an Hannah killing some time before the parade started
They look like monkeys peering through a cage!
Finally the parade! That's right, almost time for Wurstfest!!!
Not so entertained with the parade, Parker was more interested in his hands
"What, Mom?"
Oh!!!
"Hey, where are the floats going?"
Looking for snacks
Groovin to the music with Max
Watching every float
"Whoa, did you see that?"
How Parker ended the parade, crashed
Intrigued by his flag
Just a cute pic
Dancing AND waving the flag!
Marching with the band
Trying to get that last drop of water to cool off
Fast asleep within seconds of leaving

Love those pics! Clinton's first parade was in San Antonio and I can't wait to take him another. They love it, don't they? Looks like Tristan had a blast...and Parker was doing something I wish I could do more of...sleeping!
I have found over the last few years how big of a deal parades/fairs are in the state of Texas. Ya'll LOVE 'EM!
Salem enjoyed it too; I, on the other hand, was hot as all hell 30 minutes into it.
Hey Sam! Tristan looks like he had fun! Thanks for sharing the pics. ~Amy R
Tristan is getting taller! I love the "OHHHHHH" look! Too cute!

Linda-
I agree with you...all the sudden his shirts seem to be too short and just the other day he was standing next to one of his friends and he looked so much bigger!!!
