Valentine's Day weekend we headed out to the Annual Stock Show and Rodeo in San Antonio. We go every year and this was Tristan's second time to go and Parker's first (obivously!). We get our tickets through Victor's work and don't care too much about who is playing in concert that day, we just like to go to the grounds and watch the actual rodeo. We told Tristan the whole day that he was going to see "horseys" and he was so excited. As soon as he got up from his nap we got him dressed in his special "rodeo" shirt...it was just a shirt I had found at the Gap last year and bought knowing it would be perfect for him to wear to the rodeo this year!
Tristan dressed in his rodeo shirt
Parker didn't have a "rodeo" shirt so I did my best to dress him appropriately...
All ready!
He even wore his sneakers, sorry we don't have any boots!
Our tickets were for the 7:30 show so we went out to eat for an early dinner before making our way out to the grounds. Once we got there, we walked around to check out all the attractions and fun stuff for the kids.
Mommy and Tristan with the Keebler Elf...don't ask, because I'm not sure

Tristan in the petting zoo
He had a great time petting, and feeding, all the animals until he realized it was more fun to kick all the stuff on the ground, at which time we exited the petting zoo

Tristan on the "horsey"...we waited in a line at least 30 or 45 minutes long for this, but it was worth it, make sure to check out the video near the bottom of this post
After visiting the petting zoo and waiting in line for Tristna's horse ride it was lamost 7:30 so we had to head into the arena to get to our seats for the actual rodeo, my favorite part. We have fantastic seats, third row from the bottom not too far from the chutes (same seats every year)...so close we even get a little dirt thrown on us from time to time!
Once we got in our seats it was only a few minutes before things got started with the national anthem, which put Parker to sleep in my arms, and where he slept for a little over an hour, all while the rodeo was going on. Tristan had a blast watching the rodeo, and once Parker woke up I think he did too! Definitely an annual outing for our family!!!
Our attempt at a self portrait
That's a little better, at least he's smiling, just not looking at the camera
And, for those of you who can't make it to a rodeo in your own area, here are a few clips of what we got to see, don't worry, they're not too long, not much more than 8 seconds!

Looks like Victor was having a fabulous time as Tristan was dancing in his lap!
